Mat - A piece of cardboard or paper with a rectangular, oval, or round hole in the middle of the frame into which a photo, drawing, or engraving is placed. This allows you to choose the frame size more freely based on the size of the image. In addition, autographs are often placed on the mat.

With a rich palette of colors and tones, the mat serves as a tool to achieve a color balance between the image and the frame, as well as the wall on which the painting is placed. The mat provides the "air" needed for painting and helps to solve decorative tasks during artistic design.
